Nature and Wildlife on Property
A fascinating variety of interesting plants and wildlife can be spotted all around the grounds of the resort. Look for some of the more unusual trees and plants, labeled for your information, in our courtyard area, off Aunt Mary's Porch and along the Ramblin' River. Take a walk on the Nature trail to explore the flora and fauna surrounding the resort. Here are just a few of the native trees, shrubs and plants that add color and beauty to our courtyard gardens.
- Autumn sage (Salvia greggii) - Mint family
- Hummingbird bush (Anisacanthus wrightii) - Acanthus family
- Butterfly bush (Buddleia) - Strychnine family
- Soft leaf yucca (Yucca flaccida) - Lily family
- Texas sage (Leucophyllum frutescens) - Figwort family
- Summer snow rose (Rosa) - Rose family
- Giant rose mallow (Hibiscus mocsheutos) - Mallow family
- Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) - Sunflower family
- Manfreda (Manfreda maculosa) - Amaryllis family
